About Our Program
Our popular Volunteer Program is open to dedicated and hard-working individuals who have a passion for animals and making a difference. They play an essential role in fulfilling our mission of creating an environment where all animals are loved and respected, and happily placed in a forever home.
As a volunteer at the Greenville Humane Society, you will learn valuable skills while giving back to a wonderful cause. Our volunteers do many jobs here at our facility including exercising our adult dogs, cleaning kennels in our Puppy/Kitten Room, washing dishes, handling laundry and much more.
Flexibility and capabilities of working independently and with others are required attributes of any volunteer in our program, as well as physical strength and stamina, experience and comfort with dogs and cats of all sizes and breeds, and above all else, respect for people and the welfare of animals.
We ask that all potential volunteers agree to commit to volunteering at our facility for 2 hours per week for at least 6 months. We welcome volunteers who need to fulfill volunteer hours for school or clubs, but we do not fulfill court-ordered or PTI community service hours.
