Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Greenville Humane Society. All new volunteer orientations have been temporarily postponed. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these unique times.
Do you have a passion for helping animals and making a difference in the lives of those pets with nowhere to call home? Are you hard-working, dedicated, and have the ability to stay focused on the task at hand? If so, we would love for you to become a volunteer with us! We have many different volunteer opportunities at our facility to accommodate many different volunteer interests:
Assist Greenville Humane Society Adoption team by taking care of our adoptable puppies and kittens! This position is not about cuddling the animals, but rather taking care of them and ensuring their kennels are clean. Tasks also include working in our volunteer room and helping to keep our facility healthy and clean.
Take adult dogs on walks to provide exercise and add enjoyment to their time at the Greenville Humane Society, work on simple commands and leash walking skills, and socialize them with humans as well as other animals. Dedicate time to assisting staff with household chores like laundry, washing dishes, sweeping, cleaning, and organizing.
Greet every customer that visits our Adoption Center throughout the weekend. Our weekends are our busiest times for adoptions, and we want everyone who comes through our doors to feel welcome. This job position requires the volunteer to smile, have an outgoing personality, and be able to retain knowledge about our facility that they can in turn give out to customers.
Assist Greenville Humane Society staff members in the Medical Center! Keeping cages/runs clean, monitoring and socializing animals in holding rooms, and general Volunteer Room tasks and upkeep are some of the tasks you may be performing!
Assist the Greenville Humane Society veterinarians and vet techs in the Medical Center! You will be cleaning post-surgical instruments, washing surgical drapes, cleaning kennel runs, opening syringes & latex gloves, and making rice socks!
Assist Greenville Humane Society staff members in the Healing Place! Tasks include bathing animals coming out of isolation rooms, socializing the animals, assist in assembling and stocking bags to go out with our foster families and keeping kennels/runs clean and germ free!
