The Greenville Humane Society is independent from any national animal welfare or humane organization. Although national organizations, such as The Humane Society of the United States and the American Humane Association, are also non-profit groups, their focus is generally on national trends and concerns, whereas our focus is on local ones. We do not receive any financial assistance from these groups. If you wish to support your local humane society, your contribution must come directly to us.

Here's Your Chance to Make a Difference
Last year, the Greenville Humane Society saved the lives of over 5,000 animals. All animals stay in our adoption center until we can find them permanent, loving homes. And although you can't put a price on the lives of these precious pets, your Lifesaver contribution will provide the funds needed to provide one of these pets with:
- Spay or neuter surgery to help reduce the pet overpopulation problem
- Vaccines to protect health
- A safe place to stay, free from danger or abuse, protection from the elements
- Quality food to fill a hungry belly
- Basic medical care such as de-worming, tests and flea control
The love comes free! Our caring staff and dedicated volunteers strive to make each pet's stay as comfortable and enriched as possible.
All Lifesavers will be:
- Honored on the Lifesaver sponsorship page
- Acknowledged for generosity in our yearly Lifesaver publication
- Recognized by the community as having compassion for homeless pets by placing the Lifesaver's name prominently in our adoption center.
The program has four contribution levels to match the commitment desired:
| Level 1: Save 1 Life | $120 |
|---|---|
| A dedication plate will be placed on our Lifesaver wall for one year | Level 2: Save 10 Lives | $1,200 |
| A dedication plate will be placed on our Lifesaver wall for one year | Level 3: Save 50 Lives | $6,000 |
| A dedication plaque will be placed on the kennel of your choice and our Lifesaver wall for one year | Level 4: Save 250 Lives | $30,000 |
| A dedication plaque will be placed on a room of your choice and our Lifesaver wall for one year |
The Lifesaver program is designed so that everyone can make a difference by saving a pet's life. You can participate on your own or as a group. It's an opportunity to act on your compassion for these pets as:
- Individuals
- Families
- Boy/Girl Scout Troops
- Churches
- Classrooms
- Schools
- Small Businesses
- Large Corporations
- Communities
The Lifesaver program is the perfect way to honor a friend, family member or a beloved pet.

Pencil Portraits by Ashley
Yet another fantastic way to support the Greenville Humane Society and get a memorable piece of art is to have a pencil portrait made by local artist Ashley Brickner—just go to pencilportraitsbyashley.com or stop by her art studio located in the Riverplace Building along the Reedy River at Art Crossing (Suite 111) to see examples of her quality work. Get a pencil portrait made of your pet, your children or other loved ones, or give a portrait as a gift! Just mention the Greenville Humane Society when you place or your order with Ashley, and this talented artist (and “mother” of two basset hounds!) will give 10% of the sale to the Greenville Humane Society.
