This Thanksgiving there are over 200 animals at the Greenville Humane Society without a home to be thankful for.

Here are a few of the many ways you can help make a difference in the life of a homeless pet this holiday!

We have over 130 animals hoping to find their forever homes right now! Our pets are already spayed/neutered, up to date on their vaccinations, dewormed and up to date on their preventatives! Our Adoption Center is closed on Thanksgiving Day but open for normal hours the rest of the week! You can view all of our available animals online by clicking here!

We have 53 animals undergoing treatment for Kennel Cough or Upper Respiratory Infections and 10 healthy animals in need of temporary foster homes. Foster pets do need to be separated from regular pets which may seem difficult however a laundry room, bathroom or spare bedroom is much nicer accommodations than their cage at the shelter! In most cases, foster pets only need to be medicated once in the morning and once at night. We provide everything you need from a crate or litter box to toys and treats! To become a foster parent or to view our available foster pets, please click here! Can’t foster? Consider a donation to our Hope Fund which is used for the treatment of over 2,300 sick and injured animals each year.

As a private non-profit, we do not receive funding from the government to provide for the over 6,200 animals who pass through our shelter each year. We rely solely on the kindness and generosity of our supporters and grants. Some of our most urgently items needed right now are canned pate dog and cat food and Clorox Wipes. Item donations can be made in person or online via our Amazon Wish List at! Don’t forget to use your AmazonSmile account so that a portion of all of your Amazon purchases go back to the animals!
