2010 Results

2010 was the best year ever in the history of the Greenville Humane Society! We owe our success to our wonderfully dedicated volunteers, tireless staff and loyal supporters. Please celebrate all that was accomplished on behalf of the animals in 2010:

We had over 42,000 volunteer hours donated last year—WOW! Our volunteers walked dogs, visited area hospitals for pet therapy, fostered sick animals and even mopped floors and cleaned cages (and opened stack after stack of newspapers—just ask them!). We could not have done it without this wonderful group with big hearts.

The Greenville Humane Society adopted 5,600 animals in 2010. Plus we introduced our new Best Friend Finder (BFF) program to help busy customers find the perfect pet. We do the searching for you based on your lifestyle; this new program accounts for 10% of total adoptions each month.

Our low cost spay neuter clinic performed 9,600 surgeries. We saw a big surge in public animal owners visiting the Greenville Humane Society Clinic. We hired a new Medical Director. Plus we expanded the number of private practice vets who partner with us to perform surgeries—a testament to their support of our mission.

Greenville Humane Society staff and volunteers visited over 200% MORE Greenville school children and residents in 2010 than the previous year-meeting with over 36,000 people. Our humane education program has been widely embraced.

Thank you Greenville for your incredible support of the Greenville Humane Society in 2010. In case you had not heard, we will be moving to a new home in 2011. Watch for the big announcement in the coming weeks.
